Jens Walther follows outgoing Paul Ritchie

Atlanta Porsche Cars North America announced today that the Supervisory Board of Porsche Motorsport North America, Inc (PMNA) has appointed Jens Walther as the new President & CEO of PMNA, effective immediately. He succeeds Paul Ritchie who has decided to retire from the motorsports business. Walther (41) has been responsible for the management of Porsche’s One-Make Cup Program, which is made up of 19 national and international championships including its premium championship, the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup. In addition, he coordinated all Formula One related issues for Porsche and its subsidiaries. Walther who joined Porsche in 2001 worked the first four years at Porsche Engineering Group GmbH as Manager, Marketing, Communications and Business Development. Read more

Porsche Motorsport welcomes new partners

Stuttgart. Porsche enjoys growing popularity as a partner in motorsport advertising and sponsoring. Alongside the existing partnerships with the brands Veltins, Tudor, Loctite, ZF Sachs, BBS, Fein, Hazet, MAN and Sigma, many other associations were renewed and intensified. The contracts of Porsche AG with ExxonMobil and Michelin as worldwide cooperation partners were extended, as were the motorsport cooperations with adidas, Emitec, Brembo, Ultimate, BT Bremsen Technik and Stand 21. Rolf Benz, WMF and Darboven continue as hospitality partners.

2010 LeMans: Entry List Unveiled

Chicago, IL As part of its annual press conference at Le Mans on Thursday, the Automobile Club de l’Ouest unveiled the 55 entries and 10 reserves for this year’s twice-around-the-clock June classic. Led by a continued strong factory contingent of manufacturers with Peugeot, Audi and Aston Martin in the premier LMP1 ranks, three automakers – BMW, Jaguar and Ford – make their return to Circuit de La Sarthe in the production-based categories.

Peugeot and Audi will again square off with three cars each in the twice-around-the-clock French marathon.
Defending Le Mans winners Team Peugeot Total lead the way with three Peugeot 908 HDi-FAPs, while Audi Sport Team Joest return with a trio of Audi R15 ‘Plus’ TDIs. Aston Martin Racing is again represented but with two Lola-Aston Martins instead of the three entered last year. Team ORECA Matmut gains two entries – one being the customer Peugeot 908 and the other for its AIM-powered ORECA 01.
