1970 Porsche 911E

A rare original-owner car, this 1970 911E came to Lüfteknic in need of mechanical help more than anything else.  Originally Irish Green, this former daily-driver sat for a number of years before arriving at the Lüfteknic shop to be brought back into fighting shape. Owner Terry C had already sorted the paint and body work in a previous go-round (more than 10 years previous), so we tackled the rest. A low mileage 3.0 from a  911SC was rebuilt with modest modifications and topped with PMO carburetors. An MSD ignition, re-curved distributor and SSi header / heat exchangers round out the basic engine changes. The 911SC 915 gearbox has been rebuilt with the factory limited slip differential (LSD) retained.

Koni dampers and larger torsion bars were fitted all around to match the increase in power, with 911SC front strut housings and brakes. Finally some light repairs were done to the front chassis pan where rust had infiltrated and effected the torsion bar mounts around the fuel tank areas. This is a typical repair for Lüfteknic and common on older 70s, and even 80s 911 models.

Best of all, this after restoration was completed this 911 still sees regular use on the street.
