Porsche Country Codes Porsche obviously has a loyal following, and the marque has been specially made for many different markets, and countries. The old addage of "there are no two Porsches alike" is very true. Emissions, lighting, ride heights, noise levels, and other kinds of special equipment made it neccesary for Porsche to have codes on their cars to show that they met the standards for the original country of origin. This list was updated on 10 January 2002 with a new and current list of country codes supplied by VAT1/ Vertrieb After sales Technik, Dr. h. c. F. Porsche AG Germany. Country codes can only be found on the vehicle identification label located on the underside of the luggage compartment lid or in the service record manual applicable only to model years 1982 and up.
