(Richmond Porsche Meet)
Every June (usually first weekend), Alex Smith opens his home to the
central Virginia Porsche enthusiasts for a show and shine...any and
all Porsches are welcome. A great lunch, usually a BBQ, informal concours,
an autocross, and some great Porsche shop talk. This event is sponsored

The first Saturday morning at 9am of every month is "Porsches
and Pancakes". Drive your car and meet the locals for talk, and
discuss how each other's projects are going. Track talk, and Coming

An expansion of the successful west coast sanctioning body NASA, The
central VA area is expanding with more autocross events, and other
high performance driving events in the making. Big courses, some 3rd

VMSC
autocross
A very active club in the Richmond area, the VMSC is a great club
open to all makes of cars. Hosting on average a couple of autocrosses
a month, this is an environment to test your driving skill level,
or come out to see the interesting cars. Club membership is very reasonable,

Richmond Fun Runs
Some fun on a monthy basis, A new event to get everybody behind
the wheel of driving tours. Exploring some of the fun roads around
the Richmond area. We will have some sight seeing that most of us
that live here, rarely allow ourselves to see.

World's
Largest All Porsche Swap Meet
In
the later part of April perhaps the best ALL Porsche swap meets
takes place in Hershey, PA. Put on by the Central Pennsylvania PCA
club, it continues to grow each year. Hundreds of cars are driven
to the meet, and everything is for sale. It takes place in the parking
lot of Hershey Park, next to the Hershey Chocolate factory.

Club of America Parade
The biggest PCA event each year is the Parade. For more than 40
years the club members get together each summer at a different venue.
A concours, car rally exploring the local terrain, autocross, as
well as some kids programs. Fun geared for the whole family.

Registry Holiday The Registry breaks their two biggest events into
a east and west holiday. They are holidays, leisurely drives in our 356s, swap
meet, literature/memorabilia show, a concour, and tours of the local terrain.
Each year is a new venue. Events usually take place in late summer.

Speedster 50th Anniversary
2004 marks the 50th Anniversary of the Speedster's introduction to
the world and we're going to celebrate it June 25-27, 2004 in and
around Pebble Beach, California. Over 300 speedsters from all over
the world are expected, a great event.

Rennsport
Reunion I, II, III and on...
April 23-25, 2004 is the second event of some great historic Porsche
race cars on display. The Rennsport Reunion is a spectacular display
of 356, RSK, 550, 908, 910, 911, 914, 934, 935, 917, 956, 962 on and
off the track. Put together by the Redman's, this will be at the prestigious
Daytona International Speedway. Enough to make your mouth water.
there has been a RR III, and now planning a fourth!.

Literature and Toy Meet
The annual Porsche and Vintage V-W Literature, Toy/Model,
& Memorabilia Swap Meet at the Los Angeles Airport Hilton Hotel.
Usually in february, the meet has over 225 tables with tens of thousands
of collectibles - posters, sales literature, toys, models, factory
gift items, press kits, technical literature, small trim items,
and accessories for Porsches and vintage VW's.

Rolex
Daytona 24 hours
Rolex has been title sponsor for this event for decades. This event
has been the most grueling racing event in the US. In years past many
manufactures used this race as a test for LeMans. Since 2003 the new
class of Daytona Prototypes has taken center stage and proven to be
some exciting racing.

Sebring
12 hours
One of the first venues for sportscars in America was Sebring, Florida.
The racetrack is still part runway, an old airbase from World War
II. Armed Forces that served in Europe during the WWII era, often
imported cars to the US. Soon after the Sebring 12 hour endurance
race was born. It has run for over 50 years, traditionally in early
March. The "zoo" is also a must see.

LeMans
24 hours
The mothership for sportscar racing. Every June the 24 hours of
LeMans takes place. Porsche has won this event more than any other
manufacture. The ultimate test of man and machine. This is a definite
must see. Get on a plane and go there!

Goodwood
Festival of Speed
Since the 1990s there has been a Goodwood revival of the cars that
have made history since the beginning. This is perhaps one of the
more interesting auto related events in the world. Manufactures
bring factory drivers, and cars out of their museums for racing
the "hillclimb". Entrants come from all over the world.

LeMans
Classic
The ACO has recently organized this event to bring the historic
LeMans cars back to the track they once ran on. It brings cars,
drivers, owners from all over the world and become a great spectacle.

all there. Great chance to get up close to the men and machines
that made history.
