Caught
on a congested highway in Germany, the new Porsche 997 gets a bit of a
closer look as it gets time to hit the first offical public showing later
this year. Sleek lines, 996 heritage, and some new points of interest
are now clear. Johnny on the spot had a camera and they tell all. You
can run but when it comes to traffic you can't hide.

A
look back to the single round headlights.

Silver - always nice.
The
tape is the subtle camouflage. An attempt to pass it off as a 996
street car. Those that know better... know better.

|
|
|
Distinctive.
The Sleek modern lines continue...

|
| |
The 911 continues to get bigger
Waiting
in traffic ; agony. Some nice 19" wheels the 997 is sporting,
and the Bridgestones continue as the tires equipped. Ceramic discs
are fitted to this unit, Are they going to be standard equipment?

Old and New.
Compared to its older brother just behind the new 997 - A 996 is the travel
companion.

|
| |
At the front.
A revised front fascia, new lighting, profile, and much more front
ducting for the water radiators.
|
| |
Rear lights.
Another
close-up of the tape work, The rear lights have a very distinctive
shape change from the 911 heritage.

|
| |
The usual sight to most.
Rear
bumper and the ever so big exhaust pipes. Bigger spoiler as well.
 |
| |
Rear coachwork.
The
997 looks to be much wider than the 996, but the bodywork has been
blended ever so carefully. The 19" wheels even look reasonable.
